Technician
Do you want to work hands-on with advanced subsea and offshore technology?
4Subsea Astori is looking for a Technician to join our Subsea, Automation & Industrial Systems team. The role spans production, testing, troubleshooting and offshore operations. You will work across electrical, hydraulics and subsea domains, supporting engineering, operations and service teams on project-driven deliveries.
The position is based at our Sandnes office, with offshore travel when equipment is in operation.
Key responsibilities
Production, troubleshooting and testing of topside and subsea electronics
Offshore operations as part of the offshore team
Production, testing and operations of hydraulic systems
Test, verify and troubleshoot subsea and industrial systems in the 4Subsea Astori envelope
Perform calibration, signal testing and verification of instrumentation and control systems
Support engineering, production, operations and service teams with practical technical problem-solving
Participate in FAT, integration testing and mobilisation
Qualifications we value
Trade certificate, technical college or equivalent practical experience within automation, instrumentation, electrical or subsea technology
Experience from automation, subsea, offshore, marine, industrial control systems or similar technical environments
Good understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, communication protocols and industrial troubleshooting
Practical experience with testing, fault-finding, system integration and project-based delivery
Experience from offshore or marine environments is an advantage
Technical competence
We are looking for knowledge or experience in several of the following areas:
Industrial equipment - topside cabinets, hydraulic systems
Electrical and instrumentation - electrical drawings, wiring, loop checks, 4–20 mA signals, digital I/O, sensor verification and calibration
Subsea systems - subsea components, connectors, electronic canisters, power systems, communication links and system verification
Personal qualities
Practical, curious and technically strong
Comfortable solving problems across several disciplines
Hands-on and willing to build, test, troubleshoot and improve
Able to work independently while collaborating well across departments
Calm under pressure and capable of supporting critical project activities
Good at documenting work clearly and professionally
