Responsibilities
Work collectively to solve high‑risk engineering challenges, applying scientific thinking and a continuous‑improvement mindset
Advance the team’s capabilities in applied machine learning within an engineering context
Take ownership of projects, with the autonomy to scout and propose high‑impact challenge areas, aligning priorities with senior management in regular reviews
Partner with engineering teams to identify and solve complex problems, delivering practical solutions that enhance and inspire their daily work
Collaborate closely with the sensor hardware department, contributing to sensor‑fusion algorithms that strengthen the company’s sensor portfolio
Publish and present research findings in relevant forums based on ongoing work
Qualifications we value
Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering or data‑science roles
Experience within offshore, maritime, or mechanical engineering is an advantage
Master’s degree in engineering or applied mathematics, ideally with a background in mechanical or naval engineering
Advanced proficiency in Python and the scientific Python ecosystem; experience with additional programming languages is beneficial
Practical experience applying machine learning to engineering challenges
Strong interdisciplinary understanding, with the ability to bridge theoretical insights and practical engineering
Strong and clear communicator, fluent in both Norwegian and English (written and spoken)
