Responsibilities
The structural analysis engineer is part of a highly skilled team, focusing on performing analysis related to offshore drilling and wells operations, Key responsibilities for this position will be:
Engineering: Work closely with the team solving technical topics and challenges related to safe and efficient offshore drilling operations in harsh environments, with focus on risers and conductor structural integrity limiting factors.
Technology: Use of engineering software to solve the problems, from building global and local models of the structures and performing analyses, to identifying opportunities for automating the work processes. Use of data, from own sensors or third-party data sources, as inputs to and improvements of the models.
Product Knowledge and Opportunity Identification: Maintain and develop a comprehensive understanding of 4Subsea's drilling and wells service offerings. Demonstrate the ability to effectively promote these offerings to clients and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
Compliance and Quality: Uphold compliance with client expectations while adhering to 4Subsea's values, policies, quality systems, and best practices. Familiar with working according to international standards and client requirements.
Collaboration with other teams: Interact with other 4Subsea teams to ensure exchange of best practices and cohesive ways of working.
Requirements
- Proven experience and success in solving problems related to marine operations, using engineering tools for global analysis (such as Orcaflex), local analysis (such as MARC), and using Python for pre- and post-processing,
- Excellent academic and communication skills,
- Interest in and understanding of technology, such as software and product development, digitalisation and sensor technology,
- Relevant Master’s degree in engineering (hydrodynamics, mechanics, civil, etc.)
- Fluent in English,
- Skilled in authoring engineering reports and technical papers,
- Willing and able to travel and do offshore trips from time to time.

- Social, outgoing and with a passion for doing engineering analysis,
- Sensitivity and understanding to different cultural norms,
- Possess a strong collaborative mindset and solution-oriented behaviour,
- Deep understanding of marine operations and structural behaviour, preferably with an existing relevant drilling and wells background,
- Proven ability to motivate colleagues to contribute in line with 4Subsea values and a strong belief in the value of sharing knowledge and learning from others,
- Self-motivated with a structured results-driven approach,
- Curious, resourceful, proactive and with a desire to make a difference,
- A doer who likes working with leading edge technology.
Work location and reporting
- Asker, Bergen (Norway) or Krakow (Poland).
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel and go offshore from time to time.
